Abstract
The nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center in diamond is a promising candidate for quantum information processing devices and highly sensitive quantum sensors that operate at room temperature. A major advantage of the NV center is its ability to function at room temperature, unlike many other solid-state quantum systems. Optical techniques are widely used because they enable easy and efficient initialization and readout of the NV spin state, making them highly valuable for both fundamental studies and practical applications. However, despite these advantages, optical readout suffers from limited detection efficiency due to the high refractive index of diamond. Recently, increasing attention has been directed toward electrical detection techniques because they offer highly efficient readout of the NV spin state and provide a more practical pathway toward integration with conventional electronics and other solid-state quantum systems.
In this talk, I will introduce the NV center, along with its operating principles and techniques for solid-state NV quantum spin devices, and present our recent results on the electrical detection and control of NV quantum states, as well as the development of compact NV quantum modules [1-3].

AIMR Seminars and Tea Time

Seminars are presented by AIMR researchers and visiting scientists who provide a wide range of hot topics from materials science to mathematics. The aims of the AIMR Seminar are to build up mutual understanding, communication, and discussions of each other’s research fields.
Weekly held Friday Tea Time is where AIMR researchers and staff members can relax and talk freely while drinking coffee. Expectations of stimulating conversation may arise among the researchers and leading to new research.
From 2024, active fusion research through synergistic effects from AIMR Seminars and Friday Tea Time will be promoted.
