Prof. Gerrit Ernst-Wilhelm Bauer and Dr. Reiko Oda featured in the scientific journal “Nature”.
An article featuring AIMR Principal Investigators, Gerrit Ernst-Wilhelm Bauer and Reiko Oda, has been published in the September 25, 2025 issue of the scientific journal “Nature”.
The article features a four-page special section on Tohoku University, Japan's first institution selected as an International Research Excellence. Dr. Oda's research on chiral nanomaterials and Professor Bauer's work on spintronics are highlighted as outstanding examples of Tohoku University's strengths in materials science.
The article broadly covers Tohoku University's reforms as an International Research Excellence, including not only research content but also facility-related initiatives such as the construction of the “NanoTerasu” synchrotron radiation facility through public-private partnerships, as well as system improvements like hiring international researchers and establishing an International Support Center.
