Prof. Qikun Xue named 2026 Clarivate Citation Laureates

Professor Qikun Xue, Principal Investigator at AIMR, has been named a 2026 Clarivate Citation Laureate in Physics.
The Citation Laureates are international honors announced by Clarivate, a global leader in transformative intelligence. Based on citation data from the Web of Science database, the recognition honors exceptional researchers whose published work ranks among the most highly cited worldwide—evaluating candidate impact across tens of millions of papers while considering factors such as research novelty and broader societal impact. With many past recipients subsequently going on to win the Nobel Prize, the award’s selection methodology is highly regarded globally, earning it a reputation as a major harbinger of Nobel recognition.
Xue was selected for his pioneering “experimental observation of the quantum anomalous Hall Effect,” a landmark achievement that demonstrated the potential to realize a “zero-resistance highway” for electricity in consumer electronics.
