Prof. Tomoki Ozawa won the 30th Matsuo Foundation Hiroshi Takuma Memorial Academic Award

Professor Tomoki Ozawa, Principal Investigator at AIMR (concurrently Team Director at RIKEN Interdisciplinary Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences Program), won the 30th Matsuo Foundation Hiroshi Takuma Memorial Academic Award, presented by the Matsuo Foundation.
The Matsuo Foundation was established to contribute to the advancement of culture by supporting academic research in the natural sciences. The Matsuo Foundation Hiroshi Takuma Memorial Academic Award is presented to researchers at universities and other institutions engaged in atomic, molecular, and optical physics and quantum electronics who have achieved particularly outstanding accomplishments.
Ozawa received the award in recognition of his highly acclaimed research on “Topological physics in AMO systems, particularly synthetic dimensions.”
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in December 2026.
