Prof. Hao Li, a Distinguished Professor at Tohoku University and Principal Investigator at AIMR, has received the FY2026 Young Scientists’ Award, Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

This award recognizes young researchers who have achieved outstanding results through exploratory and creative research, demonstrating high research and development capabilities. It aims to foster the independence of the next generation of researchers and contribute to the advancement of innovative science and technology. Prof. Li received this recognition for his outstanding contribution to his research titled “Research on Building Catalysis Theory for Real Environments and Creating Digital Catalysis Science.”

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 15, 2026, at the MEXT.
