Arrival Support

IAC provides the following support services to international researchers and students newly appointed at AIMR and other institutes, ensuring a smooth transition to their research activities.

Certificate of Eligibility (COE) Application Support

IAC provides guidance on the documents and application schedule required for obtaining a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) prior to visa application, and coordinates with hosting laboratories and the Tohoku University International Support Center (ISC) to support the process.

*Please note that some nationalities may not require a visa for stays of 90 days or less under the Temporary Visitor status.

Accommodation Arrangements

Tohoku University provides various housing options for international researchers and students. IAC provides information on available housing options and application procedures according to the purpose and length of stay.

Tohoku University International Support Center (ISC)

ISC provides comprehensive support to international students, researchers, and faculty members at Tohoku University. Its services range from travel arrangements and finding private accommodation to handling complex bureaucratic procedures. The center's goal is to provide the resources and assistance necessary to ensure that the international community at Tohoku University enjoys a worry-free and fulfilling experience both in Sendai and at the university. IAC introduces ISC services as needed.
