Prof. Hirotomo Nishihara won the grand award as well as the Real Tech Fund award at the Deep-Tech Grand Prix 2021

Prof. Hirotomo Nishihara, AIMR Principal Investigator, won the grand award as well as the Real Tech Fund award at the Deep-Tech Grand Prix 2021 held on September 11, 2021.

The Deep-Tech Grand Prix is a business plan contest hosted by Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. with the aim of discovering and nurturing the technology seeds in the Real-Tech fields such as Monodzukuri (manufacturing), robotics, mobility, IoT, AI, materials and energy.

The company has organized the “TECH PLANTER” which is an initiative targeted to individuals or teams before incorporation phase, to discover and nurture business seeds produced at universities, research institutions and companies’ research institutes.

Out of 316 applicants for the “TECH PLANTER”, 12 outstanding teams were chosen to participate in the Deep-Tech Grand Prix 2021. After the finalists presented their updates and technology, “3DC” led by Prof. Nishihara which comprises of the research group at Tohoku University received the grand award as well as the Real Tech Fund award.
