Prof. Koki Takanashi was elected as the IEEE Fellow

Professor Koki Takanashi, Specially Appointed Professor at AIMR (Professor Emeritus, Tohoku University / Director, Advanced Science Research Center, Japan Atomic Energy Agency), has been elected an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow.

The IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization, with over 500,000 members in more than 190 countries. IEEE drives technological innovation and excellence across a broad range of fields, including aerospace systems, computing, and telecommunications, and plays a vital role in the development of technical standards.

The IEEE Fellow grade is a highly selective distinction, with the number of new Fellows each year limited to no more than 0.1% of the total IEEE voting membership. The designation recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and made significant contributions to the advancement of technology and benefit to society. Professor Takanashi was selected for his “contribution to materials research for spintronics based on ordered alloys.”
