Delegations from Technical University of Darmstadt and The University of Queensland visit AIMR
On September 25, 2026, AIMR welcomed a delegation from the Technical University of Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt), Germany, led by Vice President Professor Thomas Walther, as well as Ms. Lisa Drew, Manager of Global Strategy and Partnerships at The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia.
Tohoku University and TU Darmstadt have signed an academic exchange agreement and continue to engage in active collaboration. Tohoku University has also been holding discussions with UQ to strengthen ties between both sides.
The aim of these visits was for each university to explore potential collaboration in materials science, one of Tohoku University’s key strengths. At AIMR, the delegations received an overview presentation of AIMR, engaged in a Q&A session, and toured the Common Equipment Room and Sato Laboratory.
The fruitful discussions provided a valuable opportunity toward building future joint research and cooperative initiatives. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for their visits.
