AIMR Coordinates “AIMR Intensive Workshop on Energy-Related Materials”

On August 27, 2024, we held the “AIMR Intensive Workshop on Energy-Related Materials: Toward AIMR’s JRC in Continental Europe.” This event was held as a gathering for stakeholders aiming to establish a new Joint Research Center on the European continent, and it gathered 57 participants on site, mainly researchers from AIMR.

The workshop started with an opening address from Director Shin-ichi Orimo, followed by an introduction to AIMR by Maki Suemitsu, Director of the Research Support Division. We invited three distinguished international researchers to give talks: Prof. Astrid Pundt from KIT (Germany), Prof. Andreas Borgschulte from Empa (Switzerland), and Prof. Jing Wang from ETH Zurich (Switzerland). After the invited talks, researchers from AIMR and CRC-MS presented their work in related fields, leading to active discussions. On the following day, August 28, we guided three invited speakers on a lab tour of the Sato Laboratory, Yabu Laboratory, and Orimo Laboratory.

The full-day workshop and half-day laboratory tour provided good opportunities for discussion in each field. We sincerely thank all the participants for making this event successful and productive.
