概要
Electrolysis is essential for clean energy, as it enables the efficient production of green hydrogen and the conversion of waste into valuable chemicals. This process significantly reduces the environmental impact, conserves resources, and promotes sustainable alternatives in chemical production and recycling. Prof. Magda Titirici’s group at Imperial College London is dedicated to the development of catalysts for various electrolysis. In this workshop, five members of Titirici Group will talk about their new findings on the electrolysis of glycerol to produce green hydrogen and high-value chemicals, the conversion of furfural into useful products, and innovations in the upcycling of PET plastic waste. At the heart of these advances is the importance of electrocatalysis, which increases reaction efficiency and selectivity, reduces energy consumption, and increases yields. The aim is to highlight advances that improve efficiency, sustainability, and resource conservation, contributing to a more sustainable future.
