Joint Workshop with the University of Cambridge was held
The Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR) and the University of Cambridge held a joint workshop in the UK to share their latest discoveries on December 10, 2014.
On the morning of December 10, the symposium was started with the opening remarks by Prof. Lindsay Greer and Prof. Motoko Kotani, and plenary talks delivered by six professors including Taro Hitosugi, Yasumasa Nishiura, and Naoki Asao. More than 30 individuals joined this workshop to listen to plenary lectures and discuss the latest trends and controversies in areas such as metallurgy, spintronics and topological insulators.
On the day before the workshop, Tohoku University Day was successfully held at the University of Cambridge. Professor A. Lindsay Greer and Professor Motoko Kotani delivered talks on the strong connections between the AIMR and the University of Cambridge, followed by the signing ceremony for Declaration of Intent, signed by Professor Susumu Satomi, the President of Tohoku University and Professor Jeremy Sanders, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge.
