Recruitment of Specially Appointed Assistant Professor or Specially Appointed Research Fellow at Hao Li Lab, Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR), Tohoku University

We are seeking a highly motivated Specially Appointed Assistant Professor or Specially Appointed Research Fellow join the Hao Li Lab at the Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR), Tohoku University (Sendai, Japan). We invites applications from researchers for the JST-GteX (The Green Technologies of Excellence) “Innovative Hydrogen Storage -Analyses of Hydrogen Reactions and Application of Digital Technologies-”. The successful candidate will be responsible for the theoretical computation and data science-driven exploration of novel hydrogen storage materials with Prof. Hao Li’s group. Experience with Python programming and ab initio calculations (e.g. VASP) is preferred.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must hold a PhD or Master degree in a related field (candidates nearing graduation are also welcome to apply with proof of expected degree completion).
  • Applicants must have an appropriate background that allows them to engage in research in the areas listed in the Summary section.
Treatment
  • Salary: The annual salary system is applied. The annual salary includes monthly salary, regional allowances, year-end, and diligent service allowance, and retirement allowance.
  • Employment Status: Full-time (non-tenured)
  • Work Location: Tohoku district - Miyagi
  • Working Hours: The Discretionary Labor System for Professional Work will be applied. A total of 7.75 hours is to be worked by the employee per day, with the time worked left to their own discretion. Employees are allowed breaks in accordance with Japanese labor laws.
