A unique position, where a scientist with advanced degrees acts as a strategic planner and coordinator under the supervision of the director of Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR), Tohoku University. He or she arranges a series of joint research with the best global universities such as University of Cambridge (UK) and University of Chicago (US).
Job duties and responsibilities:
Duties include the coordination and promotion of international collaborative projects in liaison with scientists and administrative staff in Japan and overseas. Additional duties may include assignments to promote international academic exchanges.

  • A Master or Master’s degree or equivalent
  • An academic background in any field of Natural sciences, Engineering.
  • Besides the strong academic background, excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese (native level) and English at a scientific setting, time management ability under demanding schedule, excellent interpersonal skills, and willingness to work in a team are required.
  • We welcome highly motivated dynamic candidates who have a strong passion for bridging between scientists from diverse disciplines.
Treatment The contract is subject to the Work Rules for Fixed-Term Employees at National University Corporation Tohoku University.

Salary and BenefitsThe 3rd Annual salary system will be adopted and based on the regulation of Tohoku University.
In the 3rd annual salary system, the amount includes the following allowances (Area Allowance, Bonus, Retirement Allowance, Base Pay Adjustment).
The annual salary when you hired will be 3,672,000JPY and will be possibly renewed every year.
Working HoursFixed-term (non-tenured)
Full-time (Working Time 8:30-17:15, Brake time 12:00-13:00)
