Overview

Tohoku University, one of the Designated National Universities in Japan, has selected four research fields as Core Research Clusters including materials science to further strengthen the university’s research capabilities. The Core Research Cluster for Materials Science will recruit a researcher (Associate Professor, Lecturer, or Assistant Professor). The successful applicant is expected to conduct interdisciplinary research thought its expertise and contribute to promote materials science.

Start-up research support (2 million yen) is provided.

Term Hiring period: Until March 31st, 2025.
For those who have successfully passed biannual review process, the term can be extended up to March 31st, 2028.
Starting date April 1st, 2023, or the earliest possible date thereafter

Qualifications Potential candidates must have a PhD degree or equivalent, and a willingness to contribute globally through research in materials sciences.
Treatment Salary: Annual income based on the regulation of Tohoku University.
