A postdoc position is available in WPI (World Premier International Research Centers Initiative)-AIMR (Advanced Institute for Materials Research) based in Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. WPI-AIMR is a unique international research center consisting of researchers and participating labs from both Tohoku University and other leading universities and institutions worldwide to push the frontiers of materials science in a highly dynamic, collaborative and open environment. AIMR is conveniently located at 2-1-1 Katahira, Aoba-ku, Sendai, 980-8577, in the center of Sendai and only 15-min walk from Sendai station.

Job descriptions: The successful candidate will work on projects related to quantum materials (of particularly interests are novel superconducting, magnetic and correlated materials) in an interdisciplinary international joint research lab “Quantum Materials and Spintronics (QMS)” directed by International PI Prof. Y. Chen; he/she will be based mainly in WPI-AIMR in Tohoku, Sendai and make use of the many state-of-the art facilities in materials research at AIMR and Tohoku University; he/she will also collaborate with and be a visiting researcher at Prof. Y. Chen’s Lab at Purdue University, USA, and may develop additional collaboration with other international and local researchers at AIMR-Tohoku and at Purdue University.
