Solid State Ionics and Glass Science of Molecular-based Framework Materials

In a last few decades, molecular scientists have synthesized various solid state extended architectures. One of the class of such materials is so-called Metal Organic Framework: MOF, constructed from metal ions and their bridging molecules (Figure).
Our interests are stemmed from the control of molecular motion in the MOF crystals for ion transporting property and energy application, and from the control of disorder in the frameworks to create unique inorganic/organic hybridized liquid and glass. Recent results related to these topics will be discusses.
